Hands That Mend combines graphic design, textiles, and folk art through an upcycling approach. I transformed a suit jacket into a reversible garment, designing and constructing a distinct back piece for each side. Each panel was created by hand, from cutting the fabric to assembling the final composition. The process incorporates beadwork and sashiko stitching, drawing on traditional textile techniques while recontextualizing them within a contemporary design framework. By reworking an existing garment, the project explores sustainability, craft, and personal expression, emphasizing repair, transformation, and the value of slow, intentional making.
